Default 1-13-20 Stranded Island Speckled Trout on swimbait

Lost three swimbaits and got stuck on a tidal island during my eight hour tour.
Caught a large speckled sea trout on the Vudu Mullet.
The bearings in one of my reels gave up the ghost as well, from all the sand. Sounds like a rusty windmill coffee grinder. Gonna have to fix or replace. Also destroyed my cast net on some rocks. Lol

it was a tough night, to say the least. But I always get my fish!

This guy tore a right proper hole in my thumb. Gonna take a while to heal. Lol.
check out them fangs! My PB Sea Trout, to date. Made it worth while.

I also hooked a snook who shook the hook just off the brook. I’m guessing he was about a pound. He hit on the mirrolures paddle tail with the unfair lures bleeding bait weedless jig head.

    tired. Bedtime.

Got home that day and found a freaking fiddler crab in my backpack. He jumped out on my carpet from the pack while unloading my stuff and scared the bajesus out of me. Saved him for today and he was still alive, so I took him down to the park dock and tossed his ayuss out there. Do work.. back he brought me a Snapper!

either this came out the front... or the rear... of my snapper.
I’ll let you be the judge.

Ps the speckled sea trout was released like always even though he was keeper size (15” or above is legal)
the problem was, he hit the swimbait so hard that it gill hooked him.
although, I don’t think he was bleeding a lot and I didn’t tear up his gills. So I do believe he still had a good chance.

today I saw trout being chased by giant fish.
I don’t have a damn trout swimbait rod. I want a giant fish!!!! Baghhhhhh
they’re hiding in a corner I didn’t check at low tide. I found them now. I have to figure out what to get them to bite. They don’t want my stupid fake shrimp. There is fish running for their lives back there. I either need fake big fish or real ones for bait....

fake ones are too expensive. I spent $30 on three swinbaits last outting for one fish.

I’m going to have to go buy another $20 cast net and go back to making baits to get one of these monsters. I don’t have time or money to go another route I don’t think. Time here is drawing to a close very quickly.

Got some tips from the bois at the shop.. along with some lesser expensive fishy looking items.
planning a skiff rental soon in King’s bay.
next week.. when the cold front hits. I was told to wait three days after. They will be on the chew.
Crossing my fingers for a road.

they said 24” is pretty good from shore. So I know I’m not doing terrible..

    wheres that “slot” snook at?!

today I saw a guy hauling a huge boat with a giant sticker on the back that said “Snook life” and it had a cartoon mean looking snook with the tell tale lateral line. I got all excited :p

Special ordered a couple lures I saw somebody KILLING it with on YouTube in crystal river by the hot springs in cold weather. It’s cold af right now. I’m waiting for day three of the cold and going out after.
if I can get a boat and get over to the hot springs.
fawk me. Wish me luck. I’m not sure how I’m going to pull this off, but I got all the ammunition. Anyone notice, those giant fluke looking things above.. glow chartreuse in the dark!
