Trout fishing has been excellent. Kyle Harrington of Carlsbad has the biggest trout so far at 7.50# caught in Willow Cove on an orange and green mousetail. Other Notable catches included; Joe Shanahan’s 7.40#, Rudy Isaguirre’s 6.80#, Richard Ray’s 5.90#, Juan Flores’s 5.10#, Glen Matushita’s 5.00# and Martin Flore’s 4.90#. Fishing has been best in Boat Dock Cove and on the east end. Inflated nightcrawlers and mousetails have been the top baits.
Largemouth Bass can be found around structure. With the re-introduction of trout to the menu this an excellent time to be throwing swimbaits in hopes of catching a big bass.
