Wonder what the water temps are. This will be the first time ever spawning hasn't started at Elsinore (or Perris) but has started at Big Bear. Typically the first spawn at BB is early to mid June.

@ 5Shot.... HUGE thanks for posting buddy!! Went out last Friday and Sunday. Friday was beautiful, low wind & blue skies...stuck around 70 fish, filling the 18 gal tote twice, guessing around 130-150 lbs. Could have stuck more but hand reeling is a lot slower lol. Never switched the ams off the 50 # from last year. Sunday was much tougher with overcast conditions and a constant wind. Literally tripping over fish, but couldn't see them. Much more tactical fishing. Not only due to the conditions but I think they got hammered on Saturday. Slower stroll than a Huddleston was the name of the game. Fish jumping everywhere, late afternoon...should have fly fished em with the 3 wt that's always in the truck. Fish only came shallow after the water had a chance to warm up. Finished the day with 16. I'm guessing they'll push out deeper for awhile with the weather BB is getting now.

Thanks to all who still report here, keeping the site alive with carp updates and other fishing adventures. Sorry bout the pics, couldn't figure out how to flip em

Don't know if the water temp is a deciding factor this year. It's only 56.6 degrees. But the lake went up 9 feet this spring, so there's a lot of new weed beds and shallows for spawning.

Looks like Grout bay has water in it again. Good job.
