    Default Perris Approves Bow Fishing

Well it took some patience and constant inquiry but with the incredible support of lake superintendant John Rowe Perris is officially allowing Bowfishing for carp. I started conversations with Perris about getting it approved years ago but it's finally done.

There are location and day of the week restrictions as well as other regs similar to other So Cal waters.

There's some monsters roaming the waters of Lake Perris for sure. I've seen many that are probably pushing 50lbs while kayaking the waters.

I'd like to avoid the days and areas if possible. What are the restrictions?

Most notably Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. No holidays, area restrictions are basically the east end is open. I wouldn't worry about avoiding bow fisherman we keep moving through an area quickly, don't generally fish in one spot since the fish are usually moving or gone at the first shot. Also since no shore fishing is allowed my guess is there won't be a lot of people doing it.

There's no shore fishing allowed on the east end? Since when? Is it something new since the new higher water level and fishing enhancements/structures have been made there?

All bow fishing must be done from a boat. No shore based bow fishing allowed.

Hell Yeah!!!! Big thanks for the heads up Mike...never been to Perris, before but looks like that will be changing. Now I just need a boat...If anybody needs someone to pull anchor and happens to like nice beers (good IPAs), than hit me up and we can force feed a few fish. I'm bored with this lowland trout season already lol...cheers!!

Kwin, would i be allowed to bowfish from a kayak?? Thinking about getting one for the BB spawn
