I took a trip with my fishing buddy out of 2nd street Friday the 25th. Launched about 6 and headed out to a reef not far outside the harbor. I got bit right away on the plastic. We took along some frozen squid and began to attach that to the plastic and caught even more. After a few moves around the reef we got about 7 sculpin and a keeper calico. Moved out to the oil rigs for not much so headed back in to the lobster bouys. Found some that were holding calico and sand bass. We had a ball catching the bass. Just tossed out the plastic with some squid and let it drop into the zone then it was off to the races. Most were just a little undersized but we got a few keepers. Everything was great until the trip in when the motor blew.
