    Default Crappie and other panfish

Just got a new boat and took my son out to Perris last weekend for a little bass fishing. While we were there I was telling him how I want to catch some crappie because I have heard they are really good eating. Now he is very much into the idea of eating something he caught. If I wanted to try and catch some crappie, or any other panfish really this weekend does anyone have advice on where to start? I mostly bass fish so this is a kind of new topic for me and I feel out of my depth.

Blue Gill hang out in basically the same areas as the LMB. Pick up some crickets, they can be bought at the liquor store about a mile from the lake.

Correct. Much easier to catch bluegill at Perris than crappie unless you're a dialed in crappie fisherman. I've caught huge ones while bass fishing by accident, but every time I try to target them.....Zippo nada

Tried this weekend no luck on panfish but we got a bunch of aggressive little bass that kept eating everything we tried. Going to keep trying though and see if we can figure them out.

Better luck when they spawning. You'll caught them in shallow in the brushes 2-5 ft of water.Good luck
