Beach fishing in Newport

I live in Ventura but I'm in Newport Beach this week for some work training.
Turns out I'm going to have some free time to myself after 5pm today and tomorrow.

I have some gear in the car so would like to do some fishing in the surf/jetty/pier/harbor.

I'm definitely not asking for any of your secret spots but a general lay of the land would be much appreciated.
I don't want to burn a bunch of fishing time driving around and trying to figure out where I can park and fish.

Any help would be appreciated.
