    Default Any LMB biting?

    First time posting here.
I have a chance to fish silverwood lake this weekend possibly on late sunday afternoon/early evening hours and very early on Monday morning. I plan to bring my kayak for some large mouth bass fishing and any advice would be appreciated.
Almost all recent fishing report i can find on the lake was either trout or striped bass. Is LMB fishing decent at silverwood?
And does the wind usually kick in the afternoon?
    Thank you in advance!

Yes i do go by 45user..everywhere lol
i read some of the posts here. It seems like this forum is the only forum with a recent report but all on striper and trout report. I haven't fished here in more than a decade and don't remember much about this lake. I called the lake and told them i plan to bring my kayak this weekend but they didn't mention anything about lake closure....yet. i called the Marina also trying to get some fishing report but it wasn't too helpful. I'm wondering if it is worth the effort to bring my kayak if the fishing is real slow. I've been to pyramid lake few weeks back and algae bloom there was pretty bad too but LMB were still biting.
I am thinking of shore fishing on sunday afternoon and kayak fishing on monday morning.

Yes the wind does kick up in the afternoon sometimes. Yeah mostly trout and stripers being caught. And I go by bowler on most place I post. I was in a post with you that Jon did not to long ago.

I did ok on the bass last week. You need to cover a lot of ground.... it’s tough when they don’t hit reaction baits so just stick to drop shot roboworms.... any shade of purple... Caught fish from 3 feet to 16 feet of water.... I’d stick to the weed line this time of year .

Yep morning dawn, Aaron's magic are the go to colors for sure. Reaction bait is waiting on bait to move shallow I think, no silversides seen yet. This also will change with nicer weather.

I fished there on the 21st. The algae bloom was kicking, but not as bad as DV last week. I boated about 20 LMB, 2-4lbs. Silverwood is good! In my defense, I recently went out with Pete Marino and he showed me a few tricks.

The bite is very good... We went out mid last week and had 29 Keepers... With 3 of them over 4 lbs... We never even bothered to bedfish we fished for prespawn fish and post spawners.. Had we not lost a few at the boat we would have had over 30... Heads up guys...here is what you should do... Fish bays, cuts, sloping banks (Not steep), chunk rock, in front of sandy beaches, fish 2-8ft.. Fish small, unassuming, subtle baits, ....If that don't work... call me for a guide trip...

Kind of forgot about the small bait rule this time of the year at Silverwood, oops! Tiny flukes and similar baits have always been good this time of the year. Rigged up now and ready for tonight's adventure.
