    Default Rockfishing at catalina island

Have been out there a couple times but only caught a little amount of rockfish. Anyone has any good tips? Thanks. Appreciate it.

It's not that good there. You're better off going to San Nicholas or San Clemente Islands.

I would go further up and into the northern channel islands for rockfish, that or into mexico.

They fish the island EVERY day. Along with a ton of other 3/4 day and private boaters. The outer islands have less traffic / more fish.
