It’s been a few years since I been to Perris, could never figure out a solid pattern. Start fishing around 11, my plan was to be the last on the water. Water was 59-61 degrees, no wind and a bit warm. Fished the dam, bersconi beach, tires, and the ‘rock’ at the S/E side of the island. Did the D/S, Texas, under spin, and (insert lure of your choice here)...nada.

About 3pm decided to go shallow. Pulled the boat into the brush and started flipping. Bingo. Landed about 8,lost about 4. All fish in 5-10ft of water, 1-3lbs. Seems the warm weather pushed them up a bit, I’m sure that will change in a day or two.

It was good dash, can’t wait to go back. This thing called ‘work’ keeps getting the way.
