    The City and the Orange County Sheriff Harbor Patrol are holding an abandoned vessel auction on Friday, February 16 at 9 a.m. at Harbor Patrol located at 1901 Bayside Drive.

    The City and the Orange County Sheriff Harbor Patrol will conduct an auction of abandoned vessels on Friday, February 16 at 9 a.m. at Harbor Patrol, which is located at 1901 Bayside Drive.

    The following items are being auctioned:

    1 - 31’ Sailboat CF 3608 SF
    1 - 20’ Duffy CF 3091 KL
    1 - 10’ Rowboat CF 4726 SS
    1 - 15’ Metal Barge CF 7654 UF
    1 - 8’ Motorboat CF 6790 TT
    1 - 11’ Powerboat CF 2433 SU
    1 - 27’ Sailboat CF 2756 CF
    1 – 28’ Powerboat CF 7903SV
    1 – 25’ Sailboat CF 1562 RA

    Auction Details:

    Viewing will be open between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
    Vessels sold as is, where is.
    Minimum bid varies with vessel.
    CASH ONLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER AUCTION.
    VESSELS MUST BE REMOVED BY 5 p.m. on the day of the auction.
    Harbor Patrol must retain CF registered vessels for a 10-day redemption period before the vessels are released to the successful bidder.
    Winning bidder is responsible to remove vessel from the Harbor Patrol facility by 5 p.m., the day following the end of the redemption period.

    Wow, thanks for posting. Wonder if these go for a steal during the auctions...

    Seems odd they cannot locate the owners, especially with the CF numbers.

    Cheap sailboats are like cheap anything. By the time you replace all the standing and running rigging and go through the electrical and propulsion system, you're better off getting one off of Craig's list or the marina classified bulletin boards. Bought a 1964 Columbia 28 in the late 70's and sailed it all over CA waters and islands for over 25 years, We sold it when it cost us $1,000 every time we took it out the last year (cost of slip rental, bottom diver,engine rebuild that year and general maintenance. Cost was $3,500 that year). They sure are fun when you're not writing checks.
