Default 9/21 castaic upper. striper boiling all day..

im so noob to boats and stripers. but i basically made the day of trying to chase down striper boils i actually did cast on a few throughout the day and lost a fish..on a decent boil right on me basically. .
lots of fun and a learning experience. but the excitement is crazy. im addicted.. i cant afford a fast boat but even with the rental and today i learned a lot trying to chase them around the lake.
im sure because it was cloudy with chance of showers it helped them smash bait fish all day. and it seems like shad is nice and common in castaic so you get some nice big boils but they can split off and change directions even without boats rolling through and fast. but i found them all over the lake a lot of times after i drove through an area i would look behind and see them boiling. an even some in coves. i didnt go to back of coves looking for shad holding tight to shorelines ect i mainly stayed on main lake and kept a look out while driving around most the day. always keeping motor on ect. i did get caught up with having cast and boils popping up 100 yards away having to reel in and being to slow so ya. anyways ill post the vid even though i dont land any its still some cool footage i think. cya.

Wow....thanks for the video. Really gets the juices flowing watching those boils blowing-up all around you. I've been there, done that, chasing down the boils get there, find them going deep or into another area. Lesson learned, camp out in an area prone to those blow-ups and wait them out. Also, may I suggest you use white, bone, silver, or anything to "match-the-hatch" color of the shad. Top water baits, flukes and small swimbaits work the best for me.

Good luck next time, or maybe I'll see you out there next week.
