Thread: Thinking of late October trip to Mammoth area in october.

Default Thinking of late October trip to Mammoth area in october.

    Greetings,

I usually take one trip to Mammoth annually with my wife though we did not make it last year. We are thinking of late October.

Quick question on the general/overall fishing - is fishing up, down, or about the same as the previous years? I know that there is a lot more water than during the drought years so the lakes should be fuller.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Most of the reports I read in June was of slow fishing due to the water conditions and the late ice melt. We couldn't fish Upper Virginia on the last weekend of June due to ice! Reports I read in July/August made it sound like the bite returned to normal levels and it should be good in late October. Just be prepared for snow and really cold temps in the morning. Here is the latest report on WON. Be heading up in a couple of weeks so I'll report afterward.
