    Default Triple Trout Lovin' (4/13/17)

Finally got the chance to get back on the water, man the lake has sure filled up quick. Rented a basic so had no ff/temp gauge but was told the water is coming in below the I/O tower and that the water is much cooler on the West end. Weather was great, overcast all morning and intermittent clouds later in the day.

The bass were on the chew, found a ton of ~2lb males suspended in the brush and some larger models below them at the base of the submerged trees/bushes. Texas rigged Creature baits and weightless senkos did the majority of the work, and got 3 on the spinnerbait as well. The key seemed to be to find the right rate of fall with the bait as it came up and over every limb, as many bites came before the bait reached the bottom after coming over the limbs of the brush.

The wind started to pick up around 2 and the dinner bell rang, the bite picked up considerably. A little later on saw a trout jumping numerous times clear out of the water being chased by something off of a point, so out goes the Triple Trout. A couple turns of the handle and I'm doubled over, finally got my hands on her and she was a good one. Super stoked how that worked out, right place right time kind of deal. A couple quick pics and off she went. Can't wait for the topwater/reaction bite, shouldn't be much longer...

That's some nice bass right there. Especially the pig chasing the trout.

Heck yeah man it was an epic scene, that trout was booking it. I was fortunate with that one... first cast burn, kill, explosion!
