He's the guy that wears the "Starving Student" shirt in Silverlake even though he's a trust fund baby.

While his stepdad pays for his 11th semester at FIDM. And his 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible.

    That's the guy.

Spent a weekend in New York and now he's a Grimaldi's fan and Derek Jeter is his spirit animal.

Threw away his Dodger jersey because they're "not from New York."

    Well that sucked.

I had to attend an orientation for my high school junior's soccer team, so had to rely on my phone's Gameday live updates.

So my question for those who got to catch the game on TV (or for the more baseball-savvy folks) is, why did they go to Maeda (and ultimately deplete the ENTIRE FRIGGIN BULLPEN) after only four innings?

    Inquiring minds want to know......

Because Richie Hill usually implodes by the 5th. Now, my logic is that if this guy is a #2 starter, technically he's better than the entire bullpen (aside from Jansen), so leave him out there. Of course, I'd keep him on a short leash for the 5th and at any sign of trouble, yank him. Of course, if he does get into trouble, people will criticize Roberts for not yanking him in a World Series game with the type of bullpen we'd been showcasing. So yeah...

Mind you, I didn't catch any of the postgames, go figure, so I don't know what Robert's reasoning was on yanking Hill kinda early.

Also had several other questions in regards to moves. Stripling? The moment Seager's blast put the Dodgers up 3-1, Morrow should have been warming up. The moment I see Stripling come out, only to throw a 4 pitch walk, and then get yanked, I thought, "Gosh, I hope we don't go into extra innings."

And why yank Morrow after surrendering the double? It's not like Morrow hasn't been the best Dodger reliever (next to Jansen) throughout the post season. His tendency is to K batters, and he would've been the ideal guy in a situation where you needed to strand the runner on 2nd.

Josh Fields has no business on the playoff roster. The body language him and Stripling give off, is like lambs being led to the slaughter.

And on that note...a few tidbits:

Dodgers first non-HR hit didn't happen until the 10th, on a 2 out single that tied the game up.
Ball hits Taylors bill of his cap on a diving attempt, deflecting DIRECTLY to Pederson, thus preventing another Astro run from scoring.
Astros pickoff attempt in the 10th hits Laz Diaz, the UMPIRE, preventing Hernandez from possibly scoring the winning run all the way from 2nd, because the Houston CF was shaded to right, and playing extremely shallow.
Astros became the first team to hit HRs in the 9th, 10th and 11th innings of a playoff game.
8 HRs in a game. A World Series record.
6 HRs hit from the 9th inning on. That has never happened in any MLB game. Ever.
Astros score 2 runs off Jansen in his first ever blown playoff save, with the homerun in the 9th coming on an 0-2 count.
Altuve, Correo, Puig & Culberson most excellent HR celebrations, making Joe Buck's head explode in the booth.
Ball nearly lands in Puig's glove in amazing attempt to snag the line drive but ends up in the stands instead. Puig throws his glove on the ground in frustration, a la Tanner in Bad News Bears, and turns into a run a few pitches later.
Dodger fan tries to take on the entire Houston bullpen and jumps into the Houston bullpen, is escorted out by LAPD.
Verlander gave up only 2 hits. Both HRs.
Former Houston Astro Josh fields gave up back to back jacks to Houston in the 10th. Former Astro Kike Hernandez ties it in the bottom half.
Springer went 3 for 5, with game winning HR. Before today? 3 for 30.
Astros still have not lost a game in which Verlander starts.
Dodgers bullpen's 28 consecutive scoreless innings streak ends. Then they give up runs for 4 straight innings.
Astros hit back to back HRs in the top half of an extra inning game and didn't win in that inning.
Dodgers run out of players in the 11th inning.
Astros win first WS game in team history.
Dodgers had more runs than hits in this game.
A visible structure fire outside the stadium broke out. And it wasn't the bullpen.

Oh, and I'm out of Tums and rum.

Yu Darvish Responds to Yuli Gurriel's Offensive Gesture in World Series Game 3
    ADAM WELLS
    OCTOBER 28, 2017

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yu Darvish issued a statement on Twitter in response to Houston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel's racist gesture during Game 3 of the 2017 World Series.

In the tweet, Darvish said "no one is perfect" and that "we should put our effort into learning rather than to accuse" Gurriel.

After Gurriel homered off Darvish in the second inning, television cameras showed the Astros slugger in the dugout, pulling on the corners of his eyes to narrow them.

"I didn't want to offend anybody," Gurriel said after the Astros' 5-3 win (via MLB.com's Brian McTaggart). "I don't want to offend him or anybody in Japan. I have a lot respect. I played in Japan."

"I did not mean it to be offensive at any point," Gurriel said, per ESPN.com's Scott Lauber. "Quite the opposite. I have always had a lot of respect [for Japanese people]. ... I've never had anything against Darvish. For me, he's always been one of the best pitchers. I never had any luck against him. If I offended him, I apologize. It was not my intention."

Per Lauber, Major League Baseball said in a statement Commissioner Rob Manfred will speak with Gurriel.

The Dodgers and Astros will play Game 4 of the World Series at Minute Maid Park on Saturday.

    So yeah, about last night....

    • The second highest-scoring game in World Series history.
    • The highest-scoring extra-inning game in MLB playoff history.
    • At 5:17, the second longest game in World Series history.
    • The first playoff game in history where one team hit three game-tying home runs. (Here’s a video of all the game-tying home runs in this World Series. The video is four-and-a-half minutes long.)
    • There have been only two games in World Series history with 5 plays where win probability changed at least 25%. Game 2, 2017. Game 5, 2017.
    • Altuve is like the Little Engine That Could. Mostly because he keeps hitting the train in Minute Maid Park, which is now dubbed The Juice Box, since a juice box has larger dimensions that park.
    • Your local Fox11 10 o'Clock News producer is a moron:
