    Default Dixon Lake

Went to Dixon Lake today with family. Last week they
stocked 1500 lbs of tailwalkers and 6000 lbs of tailwalkers
on Weds. The lake was closed Weds and Thurs to open Friday
for a big fishing tournament. I knew it would be crowded but
    not this crowded.

Arrived 90 min before they opened, to a huge line up of
cars waiting. Plus I think many people camped out their so
they could be first to fish. Once I parked, the line to pay
for fishing had about 100 people in it and took about 40 min.

Plan was to rent a boat, but I think they were all gone. Would have
tried a row boat but the wind was blowing really hard. The main dock
where people fish at was packed, it look like a half day crowded deep sea
fishing trip. The other dock had nobody so I went their. I knew that spot
sucked but everywhere else was packed.

Was there for 3 hours, the son caught two trout one was 3.5lbs and
the other was 4lbs. I did not get a bite. The wife had one hook up, the
trout took off straight at us and parked under the dock for 5 min and
did not move. She asked me what to do, I said just wait till it comes out
or it will break your line. After 5 min it took off and snapped her anyways.
All fish caught on chartreuse PB.

Other people came and fished on the dock with me but caught nothing.
The hunter fisherman with jigs really did a good job around the lake.
Powerbait fisherman in good spots were also doing great.
However the people in boats killed it, most of them I saw had 5 fish 25lb stringers.
All fish I saw were huge, I never seen so many huge fish in my life. Walking out
I saw 2 people with fish between 10 and 11.5 lbs. Half the people there had great days.
But probably 50 percentof people did not catch anything
    and said the fishing sucked.

I thought the fishing was incredible.

The trout fishing was a little on the slow side for most people. (as compared to Friday) We caught several nice ones from a boat. However the Bass fishing was pretty darn good!!!! They were blowing up on the shad most of the morning. Cast into a boil and you got one. (at least some of the time) lol The Wolhford opener is next Saturday, a good chance I'll be there for that one. (I do plan and getting there early)
