That's so easy!!! All the Regional parks have them, big and small. I've caught several nice ones in the first lake at Downey Wilderness. But almost all the ponds have them in there.

I think the main question is, where can you find a body of water in SoCal where carp HAVEN'T invaded.

You can cast out your bedroom window and probably catch one.

Wow, thanks for the replies guys. So the consensus is... carp feed throughout the water column, correct? I think I may just set up some sort of bobber rig with some corn and/or dough. Any suggestions on what to use if I were to want to chum for carp? I'd rather not use anything expensive. Thanks in advance.

    Well, technically.

Again, they are bottom feeders, considering how their mouths have evolved. So yes, that means they'll eat items off the surface or throughout the water column. BUT, if i were fishing for them so I can place them in my bath tub,

I'd go for the high percentage option and have my bait on the bottom.

The thin pencil bobbers come recommended as carp would be very wary of any large type of bobber that displaces a lot of water when dragged under. i.e, the ones you see at Walmart. My buddies in Koreatown used to carry tons of them, in various sizes.

My suggestion would not to chum at all, since it is illegal in California:

Of course, if you want chuck corn, masa, bread, tortillas, Frosted Flakes or whatever else you find in your kitchen, make sure to tell the warden you were feeding the ducks and don't mention the "C" word.

(That is a trick my buddy Skyler Faggoti, Esquire taught the crew.)

And if you do get busted for chumming, give him a call!
