Thread: Fished Alaska for the first time (mini report + video)

  1. Default Fished Alaska for the first time (mini report + video)

Got to travel to Alaska and fish the Kenai River for the first time this month. Took a guided trip in a drift boat for ~5 hours or so and landed an array of trout and dolly varden, couple of salmon were landed too. Scenery was...outstanding. We were back-bouncing salmon egg-style beads, as well as some fly fishing. It's unreal how many fishing opportunities are available in Alaska...

    Enjoy the video!

    That water...

Yep! Most of the fish landed were rainbows, a few Dolly Varden, and a whitefish. Couple of Sockeye too

Looks like you had a great time.....appeared to put in at the bottom of Kenai Lake and floated to Fisherman's Landing.....by the Russian River. Next time you are up there, especially if its late summer you should try fishing from Jim's Landing down to Skilak Lake......many large dollies and rainbows in that stretch....it's my favorite after living up there for 20 years.

Nice video... looks like the socks were really colored up already. Beautiful river though. Thanks for the video. Should go out on the Salt up there... would be awesome bottom and salmon fishing in Alaska! Mmmm Halibut!
