    Default Avila Beach

Had the chance to get away for two days to do some shallow water rod cod fishing up at Avila Beach. As usual it was outstanding. We had four on the boat each day and each day we got our 10 fish limits, plus one ling each day. What I especially love about this fishing is that because of the shallow water we get to use light gear. Its awesome catching big reds and lings on a bass rod.

'Love that area, plus the oysters. Daughter lives in Arroyo Grande and visit as often as possible. Take the boat and hit up Lopez and Santa Margarita lakes while we're up there. Water level's too low to launch at those two lakes, so I've heard.
