It's a lot lower than that now. I wonder if the irrigation district is draining it to kill the mussels?

    Default Irvine Lake Status

Pat, editor at Western Outdoor News said on Irvine Lake :

The water is serranos and the land is still in the process of being handed over by Irvine company to the county.
The 14 acres of concession area and 25000 acres will go to oc parks.

Was at Irvine Lake for a Terrain Race today. Water level looked a little higher than when we were there in April. Areas we ran on are now under water. Still super low though.

Thanks for the update. Funny how they call that the "Flats", when it's anything but. I lost plenty of lures over there when trolling, lol. Normally, right about this time on a Saturday I'd be putting the boat up and cleaning trout. Sad times continue...

Was named the Flats because it USE to be a HUGE FLAT. That was prior to the dredging project that took place in the mid 90s. They took a lot of rock out for cement projects. Hence Blue Diamond Rock Road (HAUL Road) up the street from the lake.

Looks like it could be some great duck hunting there!
