Thumbs up Good Times on the Kolomona - Santa Barbara Island & Catalina. Sunday 6/26

Hit the Big Blue with my Brothers, Jeff (Webmaster), Binh (Badbeat) and Sokha (Troublehook) last Sunday on the Kolomona. Originally, we were supposed to hunt big Tuna, but decided the bite wasn't as hot or as close as we'd liked, so off we went to the Santa Barbara Island.

Launched at 1:00am from Long Beach, purchased a scoop of live Squid and off we went. We were hoping for some White Sea Bass, but the Ghosts eluded us once again...
We did score some nice Yellowtails with one pushing 30 lbs. Caught some decent Sheep Heads, Barracuda, Calico Bass and Bonito and on the way back, we stopped at Catalina for a few more Yellows and a wide open Perch bite. LOL

I was fishing with 15# test at one point and got rocked back to back by a couple of big Yellows... needless to say, I put away that rig real quick. LOL

Thank you Jeff for your usual topnotch hospitality aboard the Kolo. Never a dull moment fishing with you bro.

Some pics of our trip... Jeff will tag on a video shortly.

Our tradition of having a bowl of Pho after every fishing trip.

    Extra stuff..

Built a couple more raised planter beds for Mom.

I let Binh take the GTS for a spin...

    Parting shot...

Romeo says, "This is a nice Dog house..."

    Life is good... enjoy it!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July everybody...

Too bad about the WSB, but eventually they will bite.

Going to try for one of those jumbo BFT.

No worries guys, I had the entire car wrapped in 2-tone matte finish. It's kinda like a protective rubberized coating... no nicks, chips or scratches.
Even Halibut teeth can't make a mark on it, LOL
