"Rocking on the Kolo" Sunday 12/6 - Slaying the Bottom Feeders and Bugs

Just a quick report... this is my busy season at work.

Sunday 12/6 - Binh (BadBeat), Sokha (Troublehook) and I headed out to San Clemente Islands with Jeff (Webmaster) on the Kolomona to do some Rock Fishing before the season closes at the end of the month.

I will just say we absolutely killed it... the pics and the video that Jeff is going to add will show the hot bottom feeder action.
Limits of Rock Fish probably at least 8 different species, most on the iron jigs.
Ran into a massive Bonito school and caught some huge Bonies up to the 10 lbs range on the irons.

Then we headed back towards Catalina at sunset to do some Lobster hooping.
We drop the traps and went Calico fishing... Pull 2 sets in a couple of hours and we were done. Collected three limits of bugs and headed home.

Looks like a nice bunch of good eats there. Too bad the yellows didn't come out to play but those are some really nice bonies you guys nailed. Musta been some fun pulling on those guys. Looks like a bit of a bump on the water coming in so not sure if you're gonna try a return trip this weekend but good luck if you do!!!

Quality size on most of the Rockfish, Big Fat Bones and 2 Stringer Limits...can't ask for more than that.

What an amazing trip all of the way around. Fabulous pics and variety of species. I bet those monster bonies gave you guys a nice tug too !
What a great way to wrap up the bottom feeder season boyz. Jeff sure knows his way around in the big blue.
