    Good ole Crystal Lake!

It was the first legitimate lake I fished for trout when I first began fishing. A few weeks earlier, my dad and I had tried to venture out to what is know a Pay Lake and got quickly ran out after the locals hurled insults at us for the better half of the morning. (Good think the insults they were hurling our way were in English and my dad hadn't learned cuss words in English yet)

So we decided to take a trip to Crystal in the middle of the winter a few weeks later, and even though we slipped and slid our way down to the embankment, which was freshly covered in snow, it was a great time being in an actual lake instead of a mudhole, while the 2 or 3 other fisherman we met that day were nothing but courteous.

We only caught 2 fish, but those memories will last a life time. I wonder if there is any water left in that place nowadays.

went a few years back. Caught a few trout. the weeds were really thick, so thick it was a mat that extnded out about 10-15 feet from shore all the way around. it was one of my first lakes as well to catch trout/fish.
