Arrived at Clemente around 4pm right before sunset and set out our net. We were using the usual salmon head/squid combination. Unfortunately our night was cut short when the seal got to our bait before the lobster. Next time we'll be using a bait cage for sure! Out of the possibly twenty or so nets soaking only two legal lobsters were brought up mid pier. After our ordeal we transitioned back to the surf. For a brief amount of time croaker and mackerel were slamming us on lugworms and mussels but the bite eventually died when the salad got thick and the tide receded.
