Killed it on the Kolo...8/18/15

Met Jeff, Sid and Ryan at 4:00 a.m., in Oceanside, we were in the water at 4:20, got 2 full scoops ( 6 nets = full scoop ) for $50 each.

15% died before we got to our destination.

Water temp was 71.1 - 72 degrees. 2-3 mph winds and almost no swell.

Pulled up East of the fleet, soaked first sardine for 2 minutes and Jeff had fish on, then Ryan, then Sid and finally myself.

Got 15 YFT, 20-40 pounds, in the first 2 hours, all fly line.

Stayed another 4 hours for 2 more fish.

Thanks for the invite Jeff, had a wonderful time.

Sid/Ryan, good to meet you two and great job getting the fish.........except for the one that spooled RYAN...

Yup it was that spinning reel in the pic! Apparently that outfit had landed a couple large bluefin previously and I brought one in on it right before the fish that spooled me. The reel was literally smokin smelling like burnt plastic haha
