    Default Balboa or Newport pier???....

    Haven't fished saltwater in a couple years so when it comes down to it im a newbie. ..im planning to go 8/3 or 8/4 but not sure what pier to go to, balboa or newport???? I did hear their is a decent bonita bite at both piers (I hope) so bonita will be my target species but im down to catch anything. ..so any suggestions will be much appreciated (location, rigs, etc)...I do have some kroc lures and also plan to use live sardine if available. ...I will post results next week......

    I was at Newport pier Monday and saw a few people hit their limits on bonito. They were using live bait. I myself caught 2 on a P-line laser minnow.
