I wish you luck on getting the ticket reduced. That Moreno Valley courthouse is no joke. If you get the judge with the long white hair your screwed. Lol. I got a bullshit ticket almost 2 years ago from Perris and haven't been back since. I love the lake and fish. But those prick wana be riverside county sherrif flunk out into park rangers are jokes. Good luck man. I look forward to seeing the outcome of your case. Mine cost me about 600 bucks.

It's a long story. Has to do with a boat parade and the cops just handing the "awards" out to their friends. When we called em on it they escorted us out of the park and pulled me over saying I blew a stop sign.. Took 4 ranger cop cars with there spot lights on a hour while everyone proceeded to leave the park before they let us go. Then I had a sit down meeting witn the supervisor major of Perris state park the day before my trial and he took a recorder and recorded are Convo. Then proceeded to print my statement I told him and gave it to his kid park ranger that was fighting me in Cort the next day. Out of 5 cops on the bench. That dude was the only one that had a briefe case full of paper work. When I stood up and took traffic school and he got extremely pissed and ran out of the Cort room so fast the judge even remarked he musta had something important to leave in that manner. I kinda new they just wanted to reame me in the Cort. It was all bs. That's the most of it though.

Oh and when you go to fight your ticket. The judge doesn't allow you to tell your side of the story. The cop tells the account of what happen and all you can do is question why he gave you the ticket. That kinda makes it difficult too.

    mx4life,

I hear what you're saying about the "Internet key board cow boys". Some guys just love to snipe! They can't add any constructive comments, just love to shoot ya in the back!

If you think the Rangers are bad at Perris; you'd better stay clear of Silverwood...real hard cases, but I guess they are dealing with a different clientele!

The hard cases at Silverwood have to deal with almost unthinkable crap on the weekends, yea "different" clientele. For years the hard case rangers did their best to not ticket all the trespassing going on, warnings were the norm based on the response from those that they had to deal with. What that got was the last few years a new era of fishermen with a complete lack of regard for any rules but more importantly in my mind they had no respect for those out there doing their jobs and therefore it contributied to a crackdown that affected everybody even those that were "respectfully" trespassing in off limits areas.

I'm sure now those that are getting ticketed feel the same way Mx does, damn aholes giving them tickets. Yea anarchy should reign with no rules, the world would be a much better place then huh?

I know a couple of Rangers were over the top on their policing when it came to traffic laws and at least one has been transferred at least partially because of it I heard, I actually liked him and wish he was still there.

The rangers at Perris have always been pretty friendly to me. Im not denying I was in the wrong, but Ill go to court to try to reduce whatever fine they throw at me. By the time the ranger was on me it was 20-minutes past closing...20-minutes. Ive never been late before or since. I think it would be different if I have snuck out there in the middle of the night, but Im sure the ticket would have reflected that. I'd like to try to get community cleanup or some sort of volunteer work for my "medicine" versus the fine. The first ranger said close to $400 is the fine. The second I talked to said something like $250 so Im not sure what to expect. Whatever the fine is Ill at least go to the court and at least try to reduce my "infraction". I guess it cant hurt to try.

Im not sure if I sould even bring up the fact I was fighting the biggest fish of my life and that is why I was out there late in the first place. That would probably bring the judge to his knees and most likely get me ecorted out of the courtroom out the backdoor or do think it might work in my favor. Hey, maybe the judge is a fisherman and undrstands that sort of stuff. what do you guys think???
