    The casino oddsmakers have the fine at $350 with over and under bets going out at about a 50/50 clip. I even thought about putting a crisp $20 bill on the "over" and try to at least win back some of the money Im gonna get fined......lol.
    I know a good lawyer that specializes in fishing related crimes.

Convservation Biology 2007, M.S. Educational Leadership 2010) and am getting ready to begin my doctorate. I have been a product of the good ol' Cal State University System and it is NOT cheap. Lets not suggest that most local law enforcement has any more than a high school diploma to make all that money. I could easily do the work of a local police officer but you would hard pressed to find a cop who can teach effectively. I should have gone into the fire department or the police academy and became a "hero" with my high school diploma...Instead, like and idiot I went to college. Sigh......What was I thinking?
    Sorry Storm, not wanting to disappoint you in any way because I totally support academics and scholars that educate rather than indoctrinate. You indeed have a tough job and I wouldn't have the patience to deal with what you must BUT the pension system is extremely susceptible and in danger of failure due to an artificially high market. When that market crashes again, and it certainly will, the taxpayers will be stuck holding the bag. Moonbeam is a master of "fuzzy numbers". The democrats in charge of this state have manipulated the books, as usual. This Bloomberg article speaks about just this topic;

    I don't trust Bloomberg much either because I believe the unfunded liabilities are much higher than what is being reported...

    Update:

    Gang, sorry for the sloppy typing. Got one eye on the keyboard and one eye on my dog who keeps chewing through computer cables plus my dang "S" key keep kipping. Anyway called the courthouse for info. Spent a good thirty minutes trying to talk to someone live. Felt like a hardened criminal with all the options....... type "1" for felony failure to appear, type "2" for sexual predatory check in procedures, press "3" for jail/ prison check in procedures. Unfortunately, their wa no press "?" for fishing past closing hour option..that would have made things easy. Finally got a hold of someone live and they told me to keep waiting. They kept asking me what the infraction was and kept asking again. Im not sure they get many fishing infractions as the guy sounded surprised. My notice to appear is in two weeks and no record of anything is out there so I guess ill keep checking back. Did get a letter from the auditor for the state of Commufornia, but it was a check for $14 for something else..my lucky day. I gues if nothing is in the sytem by August 4th, my date to appear, they will come arrest me and I will end up doing hard time. Will make the most of it by putting on fishing seminars for the inmates in the "joint" if it comes to that and I can tell them the tory of teh big one that didnt get away.

    Gang..just got the ticket. $280 for fishing perris 20 minutes beyond closing. However, the correspondence that was sent to me has the right first name for me "rod", but a different last name ( a "d" where their should be a "p"). Hey, maybe i should challenge it, wrong guy..lol. or i can pay it and then see how everything gets screwed up because it was a different last name.

    A minor error isn't a defense. You'd still lose. Also, even if you fight it, you still pay the fine up front. If you won't, you get reimbursed.
