ok, here's what i found about this rod...

    1.Sabre Pacifica Stroker Rods 39.99

    2. Just curious as to what other people's opinions on these rods were for this price. Selling at Big 5 for 39.99

    3. You get what you pay for.
If it sounds to good to be true......it is.
    :pee:
    Just my 2 cents.

    4. They're good beater sticks if you don't wanna spend major bucks. They get the job done. I have a couple I use as loaners, and one I use for bottom fishing in the off-season. A couple buddies bought some to use on their kayaks.

Keep in mind that Penn bought the rights to the Sabre brand a few years ago. So those aren't real Sabre's. Seeker has the mandrels that Sabre used back in the day.

    5. With all the money we spend on fuel, bait, ice, etc it doesn't really seem to make sense to cheap out on fishing tackle.

I'd rather have one GOOD outfit than 5 cheap ones. There are plenty of GOOD products that won't break the bank.

Can't afford an avet/progear/trini/accurate? Get a saltiga or torium.

Can't afford graphiters? Get calstar or seeker glass rods. Hell, seeker american rods are cheaper than the classic series and are almost as good for near $100.

    6. The cheaper rods that are normally advertised are ones rejected from Taiwan based manufactures and the bottom line is... "You get what you pay for" Either make your own fishing rods that you can trust with the parts you put on them or purchase American made fishing rods.

    Tight Lines.

    7. My buddy has one.. he fishes it from his kayak. cheap rod. heavy.. basically its a $40.00 beater stick

    8. Most of my rods are quality however I do have some $20 Penn rods from Wallymart that are boat rods for my skiff. They stay on the boat and are prone to rip off when docked at a local ahhh...public drinking/eating house on the bay. Make sure you can return them, I had one break and Wallymart replaced it no problem. So for throwaways ok but I never take them outside the kelp for real fish.

so it catches fish but, for $80, is it brand new?

lol, nice business ya got going here... caveat emptor fnn-ers

The label says PRO SABRE Stroker, not Sabre Pacifica Stroker.

and show me an 8 foot Seeker American Series rod at $100:

Oh by the way, here is the EXACT rod that I'm selling:

    $125 without tax.

For someone who didn't know about this rod, you certainly gained a lot of "wisdom" with your long-winded post. Try just adding some LINKS to back up your points. Lol

I asked the question and got one response. you asked if I never heard of them. I hadnt, so I looked for them. I didn't type the body of responses in my post. It's a big 5 fishing pole, sells for cheap with their 20% coupon and even cheaper when on sale, $39 to $49 brand new. Again, is yours brand new? Thanks for the info. Caveat emptor to all, do your research.

What is your problem?? The Sabre Pacifica Stroker you speak of is a Big5 rod selling for $40. THIS IS NOT THAT ROD. This is a PRO SABRE STROKER as seen by my links that I posted, selling for $125 without tax. This is a used rod selling for $80!

Do YOUR research. Hint: go to the links in my previous post.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

I'll be dropping the price in a few days if not selling.

FOR ALL YOUR YELLOWTAIL NEEDS. SURFACE IRON, YO-YO IRON, BIG BAIT FLYLINE AND DROPPER LOOP. ONE ROD, RIGHT HERE, $80 ...and it looks badass.
