Default moonlighting part 1 DHP 5-1

Well stopped by the harbor on my way home from work to check the conditions. everything looked great, except for the sign on the jetty "closed due to high surf" gotta watch out for those 1-2ft swells I guess. decided to hit a couple other areas I have caught fish in the dark before. first spot I landed a calico, grass rockfish and a sandie. calico was 15" the other 2 were dinks

Headed to the short jetty after covering the first spot pretty good. squeezed out a couple dink calicos and called it a night.
Hopefully the jetty will be open Sat night, big swell to hit Sunday afternoon as I'm sure most of you know.

Good job on the moonlighting. Nice legal calico!

Actually there is two southern hemi's on the way. First swath is due to fill in late today (Sat) and the second one is much more powerful and fast moving with 20 second periods which should impact us on sunday. It's supposed to stick with us through Tuesday so it's highly unlikely that the jetty will be open any time soon. Especially because we are in a full moon cycle which means serious high tides so be safe and stick with the inside of the harbor. This big swell will definitely sneek up on you at night and on a jetty there is nowhere to run.

Called harbor patrol sat morning, jetty was open and the waves were twice as big as Friday. someone please send them the surfline link, lol. I didn't complain though and went out there anyway along with a bunch of bait and waiters and opal eye fishermen. No one said they caught anything, didn't see anyone but myself catch anything either.
