Very cool...but given how sensitive trout are, I would think that half of them wont make it past the water-slap landing.
Cool video! I bet those are some bewildered trout, wondering what the heck just happened to them.
They stock fingerlings by air, which I'm sure have a pretty low terminal velocity. I've heard that the survival rate is something like 99% (as long as they actually land in the water). Yeah, if they tried to stock 1-pounders this way, then SPLAT!
Does California still do aerial stocking, or was that a victim of the frog people?
