    Found this bait at Fairmount Park on the ground next to the water. Is it any good? Looks pretty cool, especially the head and gills. The hooks are very sharp..ouch!

    If ya look up into the trees you can see some nice ones stuck in them.

    Is something missing on the front ... no rudder or whatever the proper word is

    Rudder? No, its not missing a "lip" or "bill"...its a topwater walk-the-dog bait.

    A rudder changes direction, the "lip" or "bill" stays stationary and dictates the depth the lure will be diving.

    Nice find, throw that when the shad are heavy

    Yes that bait is good. You'll stick some pigs with that if you know how to work it. Especially at Perris...
