    Default big bear 1/10/2015

so my son and i went up to big bear for the weekend with my family...lots of snow on the mountain...
we decided that we would do some trout fishing on sat the 10th...we got up at 9 am. to a chilly morning..went for a drive and went to local tackle shop (big bear sporting goods) and got some advice from the gentleman at the counter..so off we went and took a drive around the whole lake looking for areas that were not frozen...we ended up fishing just to the left of juniper point and my son managed to catch two trout...both trout were caught on salmon egg red power bait within 15 feet from shore.....we fished for about 2 hours and then the wind started to get stronger and it got a lilltle too cold for both of us so we decided to call it a day...fun day for both of us..

Went last week with a buddy. Juniper was algae free as well as Windy Point. Caught nothing at Juniper but caught 8 total between both of us at Windy Point. Used power and gulp bait. Didn't get a nibble on mice tails. Used 2 foot leader and caught anywhere between 10 to 25 feet out. Successful day. Tried to upload my trout pics but couldn't do it.

Not bad size either for being so close to shore. Nice work on the late trout.
