Thread: Mammoth/June Lake 10/5-7

    Default Mammoth/June Lake 10/5-7

We headed up to the sierras for our final fall trip of the year. Because of weather conditions, we were limited to the lower level lakes. The first day, the temp was 20 degrees and windy, Mammoth Lakes was pretty much socked in with snow, so we looked for cover in the June Lake loop.
Stopped at one of our favorite spots. Hung out there most of the day, and caught a few fish. The weather was brutal, cold to the bone.
Drove up to Lundy, it too was blown out and snowing. We decided to head down to the Mobil Gas Station to warm up. Had some nice hot food, prepared by Matt and crew, and called it a day. Saturday morning was clear blue sky and a brisk 20 degrees. Headed up north to another one of our favorite spots. Weather was pretty nice, considering. I heard it warmed up to 40 degrees. We ended up with a lot of quality fish to 4 pounds. Quite a few lunkers were lost today, they seem to know where all the rocks and boulders are. It ended up being a very good day, a lot of fish were C/R 'd.
    Oh, it snowed.
