Depends on the County. The general season ends Oct 31. Last year Mono county extended until Nov 15.

Even when the season closes, there are still a few rivers open for fishing year round. As of last year, Hot creek and the upper Owens are open all year. The Lower Owens has been open all year for quite some time. These are mainly fly fishing waters, but you can be successful on the Lower and upper Owens with an array of lures (make sure you follow the regs regarding amount of hooks and barbs.).

Late October and early November are great times to hit the rivers looking for spawners coming out of lakes. The lower owens can fish well throughout the winter, but the fish often feed in very short windows of time during mid day.

Smitty is right on this. The extension began about 4 years ago. Take note though, a lot of the marina operators throughout the area still recognize 10/31 as the closing date and therefore shut down their marina operation around this time.

I know you can rent boats at Lower Twin for sure because we have the past couple of years. I know the June Loop pretty much shuts down though.
