Friday Night antics

Arrived at the lake @4p to do some cat fishing. Met the legend Mr. Marlon Meade! very friendly and helpful in our success that evening. The helpful hints helped Thanks Mr. Meade. Back to the fishing, got the boat in the water and motored around metering depths out by the flats and down the west shore. Surprisingly not as much weeds as I expected. Although was amazed of the LOW water level.

As the sun went down we anchored in about 20ft and set out our lines. (mack chunks with "the Juice") flylined, 5/0 octopus hooks on 8 & 10lb test. Stayed for about an hour with a single bite, nothing. Motored up towards the marina set the anchor same, nada. Looked like the majority of the boats were over at the flats. About 9ish now not a fish on the boat, moved over to the flats, but seemed like the guys over there made a move too to the west shore. lol! motored around and found a hole 8 ft to 17 ft. Dropped anchor.

By 10 we to our first legit bite, and landed! beat the skunk. For the rest of the evening we stayed there and the bite became fast and furious. At a point that night it seemed like as soon as you sent a bait out, you were gonna get bit! you can feel the bite as you felt your bait slowly sinking.

In all, we caught our limit 5pp. before midnight. Biggest going about 7 lbs. and smallest going 2 lbs. All channel cats. Good fishing with patience and persistence.
