I just talked to Steve at Gallion's Market in Castaic.

He's has a guy picking up live sardines for him right now.

If your planning to fish tomorrow or even this evening he'll have great fresh dead packaged and ready to go.

I talked him into freezing some of it. You might want to try the fresh frozen. I prefer fresh frozen to fresh dead. I always freeze mine. I believe it's as good as fresh dead first thing in the morning and it stays good all day.

Try freezing some Gatorade or Powerade then keeping your fresh frozen in a small cooler with the frozen sports drink. I keeps it frozen better.
