Sorry for the super late report but I figured better late than never.

Got to go salmon fishing on a friend's boat a couple weekends ago.

Left from Santa Cruz Harbor around 6am and ran out to Soquel Hole.

Trolled along the edge of the canyon in around 300 feet or water with the baits about 250+ feet down.

Managed 2 fish for the day, a 9 pounder and a 20 pounder.

Since none of us had much (or any) experience trolling, we spent a ton of time just dealing with tangles.

Trying to set the baits super deep on the down riggers was definitely a challenge.

The 20 pound fish managed to wrap the other 3 lines and one of the down rigger cables.

Not sure how we managed to land it; guess we were just lucky.

Anyways, here are a couple of pictures.
