New guy from Yucaipa

Hi all,

Joe here - 36, from Yucaipa, CA. I'm originally from the mid-west and grew up fishing farm ponds and local lakes, not to mention my dad now lives full time on the Lake of the Ozarks so I do take the occasional vacation there. In just in the last year or so I caught the bass bug again, and boy did I catch it bad. I started out renting boats at Diamond Valley and just a few weeks ago I made a huge choice to sell my baby, my Jeep/crawler, and buy a bass boat. I've only had it for about 6 weeks and have used it (sometimes twice) every weekend since. Fortunately for me I'm roughly 30-40 minutes from several SoCal fishing lakes so I'm pretty sure this boat is going to get a lot of hours on her.

My wife and daughter don't care too much for fishing but fortunately our 6yo son has the fever as bad as me. I can wake that little booger up at 4:30am and he'll fish with me until 6pm and be pissed because we have to leave, lol.

Anyway, I hope to learn a lot from this site and contribute now and again, when I can.

Joe welcome. I am sure you have found out quick that fishing in So Calif is unlike anything you have fished in the mid-west and the learning curve at DVL can be steep and fickle until you figure it out. Good luck on the water.

Thanks for the welcome guys and yes, Devoreflyer, it is quite different. And again, yes, just when I had the DVL bite totally figured out it has changed, lol. That's ok for me though, because it keeps things interesting.
