    Default Squid fishing from shore?

Anyone here pursue the IKA from shore? TO my knowledge we only have Humbolt squid that can usually only be accessible from boat, market squid, and on some rare occassions, spear squid. Do we even have any squid species that are close enough to shore that can be targeted by hook and line? I've seen plenty of vids of guys in Japan, Australia, and even the UK catching cuttlefish and other squid species.

    Hey Bryan,
I seem to recall that some Humboldt were being caught, off the pier, in Newport a few years back.
I'm sure others will chime in.

A friend got one off the beach next to Newport Pier at night with a lure.
