So USA and Germany only need 1 point to advance
What's to keep the two from trying only hard enough for a tie?
DP had a soccer expert on and predicts 1-1 tie ensuring a win-win scenario in game and fully admitted this will be the strategy for the game.
No respect for any sport where this is a possibility
Sure, I acknowledge it.
But, you must also acknowledge that any sport has the 'possibility' of players, coaches, or anybody directly involved who could change the outcome of the game/match. Thus, by your statement that you show 'no respect' for a sport where that could happen must mean that your list of sports you don't respect and that you consider 'weak' would be extremely long.

Our points are noted, however I disagree other sports do not permit the ease as soccer does with its tie moves on scenarios
Shall we move on to a scenario where Portugal moves on over USA due to "scoring differential".....
Not wins over the other?

And where does Miguel Olivo get his second if not third opportunity?
Portugal has a hard road ahead of them if they wish to advance. The US has to lose, and Portugal has to make up a -4 goal difference. They better start cloning multiple Christiano Ronaldos fast.
I just hope the Germans don't bomb us too bad like they did in Pearl Harbor.
