Fished with my buddies on a pontoon at Crowley Lake on 6/19. The Perch were on the chew. Found several areas along 395 side of McGee Bay that kicked out some nice slabbies including one that went 3.3lb at the scale. We fished mainly 12-15ft deep in the weeds. Most of the fish fell for the Kalin grubs in White and the Orange Crush color way tipped with Berkley white nibbles. Winds came up around 1130am and that was it for us. No trout for us, but there were a few browns caught in Hilton Bay. Saw most of the boats fishing the floating bathroom in McGee bay.
The next day 6/20 we decided to get our Trout fix at June Lake. Got up early and was lucky enough to get the last available pontoon. The trout were boiling and on the chew. The reeds and the big boulder is where we found the trout. They bit the bobber rig (7-8ft leader) with nightcrawler well. Caught them also on the river2sea spoons, Thomas Buyonts, and the Berkley mice tails. Trolled the pink mira shad and rainbow Thomas buyonts for the last hour and hooked up into some better size trout. Majority of the trout were in the 1-1.5lber, released all of trout that were lip hooked.
Overall our group had a blast and enjoyed what nature has to offer in the sierras. Our group is already planning a trip next year. Until next year!
