DVL sat with Hiro and Khahn - w-guest appearances by team trolltoon !
I joined Hiro and KPN about 4:20 for the ride to da lake…..
We were all tired but the fishing adrenaline kept us pumped…
Saw fellow FNN’er “Snag” at the tackle shop, said a quick hello and got ta business
We met up with Trolly and Pontoon at the ramp and they made a b-line for their 1st spot.
We went and slung the big baits for a while, trolled a while, even tried some BEAUTIFUL trout color patterned bucktails that Hiro created (Real fine work there my friend !)
Trolled a bit more, stopped and casted and casted but no signs of stripey at this point….no surface activity at all…
SO…we decide to go to out plan B….CATFISH !
We slid on in behind Chris and Terry as we rolled across the lake, got to “da spot” and asked them for the bait they had for us…..they said “YOUR KIDDIN RIGHT !” I said I aint kiddin, turns out we left it on the dock…..BUMMER…
We had some chovies and crawlers and were determined to nail some on that…..
after about 30-40 minutes of zero activity and after watching Chris and Terry put a slay on…
I wasn’t too proud to work the pair for some more macks ..
(don’t ask me what I had to do for it either….what happens on the water stays on the water).
After about 20 minutes both Terry and Chris each had a cigarette and gave us some macks !!…
Slow bite at first, and Khahn had about 3 bites but no fish yet, then…
Hookup !.....KPN gets his SLAY ON !
……and his SKUNK OFF !
Hiro and and fished on for a while …I got only 1 quick bite but it dropped it….
THEN….
I get bit…..it slowly was swimming at me with the flylined bait…..I waited that sucka out….
I let him mouth it REAL good, I wasn’t going to get a skunk this time…..
I heard trolly mumbling something about me stitchin it and to put the pole down…..I concentrate…..willing the hookup to happen….
I DRIVE DA STEEL ! ………HOOKUP !...
A nice fat kitty hits da net…woo-hoo ! SkUNKSHAKA !
Next up…..Now Batting…..”Hiro” Breeze71 drives on that wiskerfish like a tru professional !
After some good drag pulling action, he boats kis skunk-skakin fiaash !
ANOTHER REAL NICE FAT CAT !....congrats !
After a while, I get bit again……SLAyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyAGE !
An even Bigger kitty hits the deck…..
Now I hear the sound of fresh death flopping in the live well….”ohh Yeah !...I like that sound !”
We all joked around as the bite kinda fizzled……
I hooked a twix bar to a #1 live bait hook and slung it to Trolly and Chris on da line as Chris was jones’in for some sugar…
I was rewarded with a crisp 1 dollar bill when I retrieved the line….we were having many laughs on the water !
Until Trolly layed steel foundation into 2 consecutive fish on the mack head….the same mack head to boot ! those were some real nice pigs !
I was getting real serious and needed another hookup !
AND…..yet another feels the sting of my steel !.....KEEEEEEEL dem mothas !!!
They all must Dieeeea !....
Soon after…ANIOTHER hookup, felt reel nice too….battled it for a while then da hook just popped out….would have been #4 for me but alast it was not meant ta be…
Its all good, we all caught fish and all fish that were caught were real nice fat pigs…another great day another great slay…..awesome time out there guys and it was some great company….money could not buy a better time..
BUT…on the way up the hill as I went to get the car….I looked out at the lake and saw Mr stripey boilin away….quite a few too….Dayam….why couldn’t they do that when we still had time ta fish…we had ta leave…..go figure…
Anyway, this was my 2nd time to this lake and I really like it…I’ll definitely be back for more….those fish betta watch out cause daddy’s comin back fer ya !!!
