Need recommendations on a place to rent lake front house with good fishing for July 4

Hi everyone,

With all the experienced people here on this board, I thought I'd ask for some advice. I'm taking my family on vacation for July 4th and I was thinking of renting a lake front house in So Cal with good summer fishing. This can't be at any high elevation place (ie above 4000ft) b/c my aging mother is extremely sensitive to elevation. The rental place or lodging doesn't have to be lake front, but that would be ideal. Close to the lake would also be okay. I'm open to any other ideas as well.

Thanks for the recs so far! Unfortunately, I'm limited to the Southern Cal areas closer to LA or SD.
