Here's a little gem from one of my collection sites.. Megahexura fulva, aka the Tawny Dwarf tarantula. (not a true tarantula, closer to trapdoor spiders)


At first glance, you may mistake it for any other spider you see, however upon closer inspection..




..you can easily see the kinship.

The behave similar to dipluridae, making a sheet-web. Adult females reach a body length of no more than 20mm (two cm)..


It's hard to believe, but there are even smaller species of dwarf tarantulas. Microhexura only gets to 4-5mm as an adult, and there's an even smaller species that only gets to 2-3mm..
