San Gabriel mountains has been really dry since spring of 2012. Pretty much unfishable, sad really, 2010-2011 was awesome. Don't know about SB, but figure it's about the same, because the drought issue is state wide.

Fished the Santa Ana River near Seven Oaks a few months back, water was very low but fishable. We got skunked but some dude flyfishing was having a great day. Guess thats the way to go when fishing small streams for skittish trout.

About half the streams I've checked out have become mostly fishless over this last dry summer. Going to be a long, hard recovery for them, San Gab and San Bern both

I fly fished SAR last weekend. The water is low, but still fishable. The fish are really skittish though.

Have you tried bleaching the stream?

I heard that gets even the most skittish fish to end up in someone's creel.
