    A world record Trout weighing in at 52lbs 3oz was caught ice fishing in Minnesota;

    that would have been a state record,... diffidently not world record... But all the same that does suck they don't give him the state record...

    Yes you are correct and my mistake as I should have said "world ice fishing record Trout". The link I provided in my op apparently doesn't allow the full story to be copy and pasted. I found the article I originally read and pasted the link to the op. Thanks for pointing that out...
