:As winter draws to an end, Fans of Offshore Powerboat Racing won’t have to wait too long as Pacific Offshore Powerboat Racing Association is proud to announce the start of the 2014 Season at the Lake Perris Gran Prix at Lake Perris State Park in Perris, CA on Saturday March 22nd. Cat’s, V’s, inboard and outboard powered offshore race boats will descend on Lake Perris to race in the inaugural Lake Perris Gran Prix on Saturday afternoon. Racer’s will navigate the 5 ¼ mile course around Allesandro Island to the dam and back around the lake. The racers will be looking to start their 2014 National High Point championship chase with a finish at the Gran Prix.

In the morning, prior to the Offshore Gran Prix there will be two PWC Endurance races with some of the top riders in the country participating. Racers on their Sea-Doo’s, Yamaha’s and Kawasaki’s will take to the water in a test of the crafts durability during the two- hour long races around the lake.

The event is going to be fun for the whole family so grab the kids, some beach chairs and head over to Lake Perris to watch what’s surely going to be a great event!

From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Lake Perris will have several events of racing boats and racing personal watercraft. The best place to see this event is from the shoreline located in parking lots 1-4. This event is free to watch. Parking is $10 per vehicle.

Please note: The Lake will be closed to all watercraft, float tubes, kayaks, paddle boards ect on March 22nd. The Lake will close at 3:45 PM the day before the event (Friday March 21st)

Yeah, I agree with DEVOREFLYER.. It's going to really mess up the fish at the island and probably the east side. They are not used to fast, loud watercraft and all their wakes. Probably going to turn off the pre spawn (and early spawners) in the shallows. Hopefully everything will get back to normal after a few days.. Hope this doesn't become a regular thing. Take it over to Elsinore.

hahaha... the fishing wont be messed up for a day much less a week. The bass will still be doing there thing regardless of whats going on above water... The boat noise wont affect the spawn in the least.. funny though.

Don't lie Pete, all the fish will be dead by Sunday. Everyone do yourselves a favor and stay away indefinitely!
