    Default Piru slabz 12-28-13

    Went up to the lake today
    Looking for cold water SLABZ
    Had a chance to fish from all
    The wind latly... Saw a fresh
    Dead largemouth about five
    Pounds belly up. Anyways
    Caught some really nice fish
    In 60ft of water about half
    Way down. Green and white
    Blue and white were working.
    In need of rain quick. Pyramid
    Let loose like five feet of water
    So the launch is out of the mud;

    Nice crappie,I also heard the same thing about Cachuma Lake,,as far as the need for rain soon!

    Those are great wintertime crappie. People who only fish for crappie during the spawn don't realize how good the fishing can be this time of year. I was out yesterday. First thing in the morning I found a really impressive school. It was so impressive I thought I would get a shot of the sonar screen. It wasn't full daylight yet and I had the camera set on auto, so the shutter speed was slow. To complicate things even further, you can imagine that with a school like that what was about to happen. Just as I got ready to snap the shot, both rods went off with a double hookup. Here is the terrible shot I wound up with, but I did get both crappie. I had a good laugh when I saw how it came out.

    Not a single crappie under 15" yesterday.

    Hey Larry...nice fish finder shot...saw schools like that all day last weekend. Its fun to be able to predict a bendo...
