and bad luck was nowhere to be found...my pal Bob and I hit the lake at dawn and headed straight for the Necktie fish market...anchored once and limited out by 9:30...nothing special, just a bunch of schoolies, but great action. We had fresh sardines, and we seemed to be getting bit more often than the people on boats around us, though all boats in the fleet were catching fish....

Some of the "fresh" sardines were mushy, but if you could keep the glob on the hook and gently let it down, it got bit. I caught one on a glob of gut, no meat, skin or bone at all, wrapped on the hook like when you use mussels in the salt. What a country!
